Just because your office "allows" you to wear jeans to work, doesn't mean you should abuse the privilege. Oh wait, were you one of those give an inch, takes a mile kind of kids? Well, if so, here is a much needed lesson on your "jeans for work" etiquette.
Jeans
Unless you work at a custom jeans company, you should be mindful of the unwritten rules of wearing jeans to work. When choosing your jean for the office, keep in mind that you (probably) still want to look polished and professional. When you wear a dirty, tattered jean, people tend to not take you so seriously. Take Brandy, here, for example. Odds are you wouldn't want anyone in those jeans in charge of much more than, uh, acting or singing.

The great news is that by following the tips in this article you can buy designer jeans anywhere with a since of confidence that you are getting the real deal. So next time you are shopping for designer jeans here are some things to look for:
Jeans
Take a very close look at the fabric. Fake designer jeans by definition are cheaply made and the denim is often a coarse material that will feel stiffer and heavier than premium originals.

Trend of low rise jeans
Jeans
It seems that the low rise jeans are here to stay. The trend that is so popular with the teenage boys and girls today, started in late 1990s and reached pinnacle when the popular pop star Britney Spear wore one of these jeans in her music album.

I thought things were supposed to move slower on the West Coast. With formerly new school artists like Pac Div and Nipsey Hussle approaching 5 years in the national consciousness, and Kendrick Lamar and the Odd Future collective currently enjoying their time in the spotlight, the next next generation of Westside wunderkind are at the on-deck circle and moving towards the batter's box at an alarming rate. Armed with cacophonous production by The Neptunes themselves, as opposed to one of their many disciples, Compton-native Buddy is the latest in a long line of streetwear-clad rappers who are light on substance but heavy on...well this is a pretty lighthearted effort all around. No need to over think. Put your headphones away. This one's for the speakers. Wearing jeans that fit properly is important, whether you are using utility jeans for working around the house or wearing jeans for being seen in public and impressing those who see you. If there was such a thing as a universal fit chart, selecting jeans that fit would simply be a matter of consulting the chart, but unfortunately it's not that easy.
Jeans
Now, fitting jeans for men is almost as easy as consulting a chart. Men's jeans tend to be a looser fit than women's jeans which makes them more forgiving, and inseam and waist sizes listed on the label are generally accurate. A man can usually buy jeans without trying them on, unless he is buying low risers or skinnies, in which case a try-on is recommended.

On the other hand, women's jeans sizes tend not to be very accurate, which can make jeans sizing a bit of a guessing game. Not surprisingly, there is about a 36% return rate on clothing due to fit problems.
A Consumer Reports article in 2002 showed that among various manufacturers the waist sizes could vary by more than 2 inches for the same listed size and by more than 1 inch in length. That means that jeans may be listed on the label as a size 10 when it really is a size 12. That's very flattering of course, but it's an example of the phenomenon called "vanity sizes."
It's a good idea to always try on a new pair of jeans. Pull them up as high as they go naturally and crouch down in them. They should not bind, feel too tight, or allow your rear end to peek out. Walk around in them and assure that they feel snug and comfortable. After all, you will be wearing the jeans for numerous hours during the day.
Here are a few fitting checkpoints to look for in a new pair of jeans.
o Jeans should rest just on top of the shoes that you will wear with them.
o With high heels the jeans should fall an inch to a half inch above the floor at your heel.
o They should be pre-shrunk and even then should be just a little longer than you need.
o The waist of the jeans should conform to your waist and not gape open.
o They should not wrinkle or fold excessively.
o The fly covering the zipper or buttons should lie flat.
o The waist button or snap should close easily without having to lie down to do it.
o The pockets should lie flat.
o They should be comfortably snug in the seat and around the thighs, not too baggy or too tight.
Jeans can always be hemmed if they are way too long. Take them to a good tailor for hemming, but be sure to wash them at least once prior to doing so. Make sure that the last bit of shrinkage has been removed before they are hemmed. Ask the tailor to retain the original hem or at least duplicate it. The original hem retains the original look and styling of the jeans and normally contains abrasions and frays that give the jeans some character.
Wash the jeans carefully the first time, even washing them alone, because some of the dye may bleed. Follow the manufacturer's care and washing instructions that should be printed on a tag. It is best to turn the jeans inside out before washing them to protect them against fading and against damage to special details such as embroidering.
Finally, here are a few tips regarding the fit of low riser jeans and skinny jeans. Standard jeans have a rise of 10 to 12 inches, but low risers have a moderate rise of about 7 inches or an adventurous rise of only 3 or 4 inches. However, the rise in the back of the jeans may be 3 or 4 inches higher than in front in order to avoid exposure problems. Give the low risers the crouch test before committing to them. Skinny jeans have come back into fashion because they create a long, lean, and leggy silhouette. They should hug the calves and thighs comfortably by relying on the natural stretch characteristics of the denim fabric. Figures with heavier thighs and hips should probably avoid this style. Skinny jeans look great with heels, in which case their length should be just below the ankles, and with boots where they can be tucked inside comfortably to show off the details of the boots.
Use these fitting tips to help you find a great pair of jeans. After all, jeans are fun and flattering and you're going to own many pairs in your lifetime.

As the name suggests, these jeans rest below the waist. It can be said that these jeans are working against the gravitational force and cannot be worn without belt since the waist does not support the jeans. Generally, low waist jeans will be 3 inches below the waist. But, super low waist jeans are gaining popularity. The zipper in these jeans is just about an inch and a half. The zipper is more of a fashion statement rather than a utility.
Popular varieties of low rise jeans:
Brazilian jeans: These jeans are stretchable and give comfort to the wearer, due to it's property to stretch. These also fit well to the curves of the body and are very popular with the girls.
Super low rise jeans: These jeans rest at about 6 inches below the waist are particularly famous with the younger generation. However, it may not be possible for many to carry these jeans well, for obvious reasons. The trend is to wear these jeans with muscle shirt.
Accessories of low rise jeans
Since it is impossible to keep these jeans in place without a belt, thick belts came in vogue. These belts give a feel of a rock star and are popular both with boys and girls. Secondly, since the back and navel are visible in the jeans, it gave rise to the trend of tattoos- again an inspiration from the rock stars. The trend of tattoos is popular both amongst boys and girls. While the girls get tattooed below the navel as well as on the lower back, boys get tattooed on the lower back. These jeans also gave rise to the trend of naval piercing. While tattoos look attractive, both on male as well as females, one need to be careful about the dyes and chemicals used in tattoos as well as the needle used for piercing. There are chances of getting infected, or you may be allergic to certain dyes and chemicals.
Like wise, the trend of low rise thong was set in females, as normal panties could no longer be used in these jeans.

Premium designer jeans manufacturers take great pride in their workmanship and reject samples that do not adhere to their strict quality standards. Uneven stitching and loose threads are very good indicators that you are looking at fake designer jeans.
Virtually all designer jeans have some sort of signature stitching on the pockets that makes them unique. Go to the manufacturer's website and become very familiar this because sometimes the difference in fake designer jeans pocket stitching is difficult to spot. If you notice a difference, you can be almost certain you are looking at a fake.
Designer jeans labels will often be the easiest way to identify a fake. Fakes will usually have subtle differences in writing or label quality. Both paper and fabric tags are usually made of cheaper materials than their authentic counterparts. If you spot an exterior hangtag with different paper quality, font or twine attachment it is almost always a fake.
Inspect the buttons. On some designer jeans the buttons are pretty close to the original, however, some buttons are different sizes, have letters missing or in some cases the wrong buttons completely.
Now you have a number of ways that you can identify fake designer jeans. If you keep these tips in mind and spend a little time to get familiar with the specific characteristics of the brands you like most, you will quickly become an expert at spotting fakes. This will be very helpful to you because while there are a large number of fakes around, there are plenty of great bargains on originals around every corner.
Remember that when it comes to shopping for clothing, full retail is for suckers.

The point is-a dark wash jean without any serious distressing/destruction treatments will looks crisp and clean. People like that. They respect it. Another solid option is a trouser jean because it resembles a more traditional dressy pant. Its slick lines will look sophisticated, and its wide legs will give a stylish draping effect.
Now since you're going to go casual with your jeans, you want to dress up the rest of the outfit with a feminine blouse or button-down and some cute high-heels or flats. Do not, try to pair your jeans with a t-shirt or sweatshirt and tennis shoes. Those items should *never* be seen in the office.
And, if you do find yourself craving a little adventure, you can always shake things up with a bright colored vest or blazer. Just make sure you know what you're doing here. No need to ruin a perfectly good outfit with one bad yellow vest decision.
